WHO WE ARE
The Western Independent Concrete Producers Association (WICPA) was formed on February 24, 1989 under the societies act of Alberta. The WICPA represents the interests of independently owned ready mix concrete and precast producers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Saskatchewan and British Columbia are relative newcomers to the association.
The term 'Independent' differentiates us from two other competing concrete producers that are subsidiaries of very large multi-national, vertically integrated companies with headquarters in Europe.
Our association provides a forum to discuss our common problems, and enables us to speak with a single voice. One of our many objectives is to protect the interests of the independent producers and to communicate our concerns to the various levels of government.
By purchasing your concrete products from independent producers you ensure that your money stays firstly within your province, secondly within Western Canada and thirdly within Canada. You are therefore supporting a locally owned company investing in your community, province and country.
